| Just wondering since if you had a semi-working one (like I did before), one cylinder was dropping out and not getting full fuel which as we know is a good recipe for detonation (even though you can't always hear it). Not saying the re-grind is not the issue, just wondering if there are possible other issues. I just don't comprehend what Nissan has done so special that prevents the cranks from being reground. At the end of the day as long as the clearance is right and you have not ground off the oil drainage angles... But maybe there is some black magic involved here. Now one cylinder tearing a rod bearing up... that makes me think detonation since it did not happen on all of them. Also the physics of it make sense (rod flying upwards with an explosion downward, someone is gonna take the hit, and oil pressure is good for only so much, thus contacting the rod journal with the bearing). Don't know though, just some thoughts.
